We have never met, but I am Sha’s friend from the old days in the film business – she speaks so highly of you, and my husband Tomas and I have visited your website many times, and just LOVE your work. A while back you were in an on-line contest thing-y, and we voted for you.

Even though we have never met face to face, I feel like you are a friend – and Tomas and I both think you are just GORGEOUS, woman! Gorgeous, smart, and talented. Mr. Inman is a lucky man.

Sha mentioned briefly that you had lost some of your beloved animals recently, and I wanted to send my condolences. We have a zoo here also (it was four cats, a crow and a rabbit, nobody in a cage), and two of our older cats died within two weeks of each other. I get the sense from Sha that you feel the same way about your animals that we do – they are our kids, and losing them is just heartbreaking.

Just wanted to say hi, introduce myself and Tomas, and tell you how sorry I am about your kids.

Your pics of Sha’s house and view are the best I have seen of it so far – I get more of a sense of the outside. We’re going to make it out there someday!

Look forward to meeting you in person someday, but in the meantime, come by the website if you want to – it is predominantly a writers page, with three different blogs, lol. Many rants with plenty of humor sprinkled in.

Sha said that you told her she needs a “rant” blog, and I agreed wholeheartedly – I told her it did not have to be “negative” that she can get her anger out without bashing anyone, and it will help her take a step back and find the humor in the situation. It’s always there, just sometimes buried very, very, deep.

Anyway, I have rambled on long enough.

The past few years have been extremely difficult ones for us and she especially seems to be showing the wear and tear of our hardships. Lately she is showing signs of confusion or dementia and coordination problems and it breaks my heart to know that she is not going to make it as long as me in this world. I can’t imagine not having her always there. She has been from day one my one true constant and I cry thinking of waking up without her. I so feel your pain and loss of Boo. I am in the process of making a black liner lagoon 36×18 pool in my home in Spain and, thanks to your site, I have been able to visualize what a black pool looks like before building it. I was hoping based on your experience if you could help me out with a couple of doubts I still have:

1) What color Lights (Samlight?) do you recomend me to use and how many lights should I install for the colors not to be too muted by the Black?

2) During the day, how can you tell where the bottom of the pool or where the steps are to avoid hurting yourself? is there any way of having perspective?

REPLY: The Spectrum Amerlite (SAm™) light has several colors (white, green, aqua, blue, purple, magenta) that can either rotate through the spectrum fading from one color to the next or set on any single color by flicking the switch on and off one time which then “holds” that color. We only have one S.A.M. light set in the deep end of our pool and it lights up the entire lagoon like a jewel at night (as you can see by the photographs). During the day, the bottom of the pool and steps are easily visible in regular day/sun light, as the pool is a very dark dusky blue (and not clear black). We also had stone tiles that match all the stone work set into the steps for grip and visibility.
